Bill Shiverick is a co-founder of Vertical Television, Inc. With 15+ years of experience in commercial real estate and telecommunications, he identified the importance of different types of media to both tenants and landlords.
As a result of their experience at Cypress Communications, Inc., Bill and Robert Harlin founded VTV to focus on the underserved niche of television services in commercial real estate.
From 1987 through 1997, Bill served as the Vice President of Landauer Associates, Inc. in the investment sales division.
From 1998 through 2000, he was responsible for licensing commercial office buildings with Cypress Communications.
From 2000-2001 he managed the sales of telecommunications services to all types and sizes of businesses located in the Cypress-served office buildings.
Robert Harlin is a co-founder of Vertical Television, Inc. Established in 2002, Vertical AVTV focused primarily on providing satellite television services to tenants and landlords in commercial office properties.
In the mid 1990’s he served as COO of Conduit Communications, Inc., and developer of educational content for television and multimedia distribution. Founded by former Turner Broadcasting production executives, Conduit had a syndication arrangement with Fox Television, and produced a series of multimedia CD ROMs for Learning Books, a division of Broderbund.
In 1997, Robert joined Cypress Communications, Inc., an operator of shared tenant telecommunications systems in commercial office buildings. With roles in both technology and business development, he assisted in the licensing of over 300 million square feet of space for telecom, Internet, and satellite television services. Cypress raised $180 million in its 2000 IPO.
Ward co-founded two national companies
during the past 25 years, Cypress Communications (telecom/Internet services) and Scenique Properties (real estate development).
At Cypress, Ward was instrumental in creating
the first fiber-based Internet service in
multi-tenant office buildings. Cypress was also the pioneer in expanding ‘in-building’
telephone service beyond basic service, with
the addition of satellite TV and high-speed Internet service. Approximately 300 million square feet of office space (in 50 national markets) was licensed by Cypress for telecom/Internet/TV services specific for commercial properties.
Further, Cypress completed a successful IPO
in 2000 raising $180 million to expand its'
national building footprint.
